Population Finder

The Census Bureau recently released a new information resource called

Product highlights:

 

- Population Finder provides Census 1990 and 2000 population data, 2004

Population estimates, Fact Sheets, maps, and "Narratives" with the 2003 data only.

- The Fact Sheets list all kinds of statistics - including social, economic,

and housing - with links to maps and briefs (Census publications).

- The Maps are interactive and user-friendly with zooming, panning, and

display

format options (census tract, block group, block).  You can easily cut &

paste the maps into Word or other document types.

- The Narratives are attractive documents with text and charts which can

be DOWNLOADED.  Try searching on Austin, TX for an example of all the

goodies

you can get.  See the attached file for a sample Narrative downloaded file

on Austin, Texas. 

- Population Finder is similar to the subscriber-only SitesOnTexas service

by TWC, which also contains Census data and mapping capabilities.
